After spending all night in the observatory, Doppler was certainly tired. Now that he had put the children down for their afternoon nap, now seemed like a marvelous time to take one himself. It was rare that he got peace and quiet around here so he might as well take advantage of it.
With that he lay down on the couch and went straight to sleep.
Amelia strode out of the kitchen with a cup of coffee in one hand, the other clutching a report having been written from her latest mission. She came to a halt when she saw her sleeping husband on the sofa, and it brought a small smile to her face. Setting both objects in her hands down, she retrieved a blanket and quietly placed it over him.
“Sweet dreams, dear.” She then returned to her paperwork.
It didn’t take much these days to awaken the astronomer, especially when every little noise could indicate a fussy child about to cause chaos. So it was not much of a surprise that Amelia’s kind gesture with the blanket, woke him from his slumber. Slowly he sat up with a yawn. “Morning, love.” He fumbled for his glasses as he rubbed his eyes with his other hand. “Or as I should say, afternoon. How long have I been asleep?”
His wife arched an eyebrow, not having wished to wake him. Ah, well, what’s done was done. It was unlikely he’d go back to resting now. “Or rather, evening.” She replied, taking a sip of coffee. “My apologies, I didn’t mean to wake you. Your slumber lasted a tad bit over an hour, and you deserve much more.”

…they decide to play go fish.
“Any… twos…?” Hook questioned hesitantly, unsure of himself. Amelia crossed one leg over the other smugly, shaking her head. “Go fishing before they get eaten by the crocodile.” The pirate scowled, stabbing a card with the tip of his Hook and bringing it to him. Lumiere gulped, rather nervous that this game would cause the captains to fight. “Ah, er… Hook, any.. fives..?” He questioned, to used to using french numbers, which had infuriated the mustached man when they first started the game.
Hook unwillingly parted with the card he just recently aquired, his number running low. He was sure that Amelia and the former candle were cheating against him. He smoked away unhappily, hand balled into a fist. Amelia’s turn, but she didn’t go as far as finishing the number Hook surely had before the cards went flying, along with the table. “Goodness, James. Temper temper.”
“BLAST good temper!” He stood, glaring at the woman that still kept a smug smile across her lips. Lumiere had a nervous sweat. “P-Perhaps we could play Yahtze—” But he couldn’t finish said statement before he face was hit with a fish card, the angered captain turning and storming away from the two to proceed with his fit.
Amelia only blinked, glancing at Lumiere, who was looking back at her.
“Monopoly?”
“Sure.”
has-a-lot-to-offer-anatomically replied to your post: “Dear, how about if we have a nice dinner? I can ask Jim if he could watch the children for us while we are gone.”
“Well I will certainly ask, love.” He gently kissed her on the cheek before rolling a ball to the playing children on the ground.
A smile formed at the contact, she proceeding to move onto her side to watch the children play. They were getting so big. “I’m unsure if he’d be able to handle them.” She chuckled, moving over to ruffle Daniel’s. hair. “Them being the chaos-causers that they are.”
